Michael McLean Music

Wow!!!  What a memory.  We’re putting away the Christmas decorations and Lynne puts on the satellite radio station that’s nothing but big bands from the 1940’s and blasts it through the house.  I’m placing the Christmas Village Pieces in their styrafoam containers and BAM!!! Lionel Hampton starts doing that thing he does so amazingly on the vibes and he’s backed by a band called Illinois Jaquet (or something like that) and it gets fast and furious and the band is punctuating the back beats and the arrangement is killing me.  I start laughing!! Can’t help it.  It’s just TOO good.   And then, just when I think the number is about over it goes into hyper drive.  It rocks me until my inner Springsteen/U2/Steve Winwood is gasping for air.  I’m having WAY, WAY too much fun at this moment.  It’s music that was made loud to play loud and it was created before I was born yet it made this moment JOYOUSLY DELICIOUS!!!   I’m SOOO happy I was born after these guys made this.

But…but… you mean you don’t listen to “I cry the day I take the tree down?” I suppose you’re tired of it by now after hearing it every night for the past month. I always listen to the Forgotten Carols one last time while taking down decorations and yes, I cry. Thanks for bringing that joy and spirit into my home.

I can totally picture you rocking out to big band music! Sounds awesome!

You never cease to amaze me. I have spent the last 5 days On my mission to be happy too. It is amazing what you can find when you are looking for it. I took my tree down yesterday and I was so happy to have my living room back….don’t get me wrong I love Christmas time and the tree and the meaning of it all but I NEVER Cry when I take my tree down (usually because it has been up for over a month by that point). Today I went to the Gym to meet my physical Trainer. I am going to get healthy! I am going to be around for my kids and grandkids (at least I hope someday) and that makes me happy! I am on this mission with you….Thank you!

I love your description of the music you listened to, as if the music itself is not enough to make you get into the best mood ever! The way you described it makes me listen to it in a whole new way and enjoy it even more, amazing! Thanks for sharing :)

That must have been so great. Even through my name changes and the changes that have taken place in my life since the very first time I met you years ago in Northern Utah, the thing that impresses me most is Michael is a choice spirit having a fantastic human experience. Michael lets us have a glimpse into his soul, so that we can see and feel what is there. What a way to take the tree down, then comes the time to cry with a bitter sweet happiness. Then again in 11 months we get to do it all over again.
I am so excited and can hardly wait for my copy of this book.
    Thanks Michael for everything!
